Today I am experiencing the effect of feeling my business efforts starting to collect momentum. It has taken months of daily effort and many times I wanted to give up. Yes, I have made money too, but 'before you sell the house you have to build it first', so to speak. So it is with everything. Building something of value is the key.

A Day In The Life Of An Affiliate Marketer

Being in the affiliate marketing business is not that hard now with the internet at your disposable. It is much easier now compared to the days when people have to make use of the telephones and other mediums of information just to get the latest updates on the way their program is coming along.

So with technology at hand, and assuming that the affiliate is working from home, a day in his or her life would sound something like this?

Upon waking up and after having breakfast, the computer is turned on to check out new developments in the network. As far as the marketer is concerned there might be new things to update and statistics to keep track on.

The site design has to be revised. The marketer knows that a well-designed site can increase sign ups from visitors. It can also help in the affiliate?s conversion rates.

That done, it is time to submit the affiliate program to directories that lists affiliate programs. These directories are means to attract people in joining your affiliate program. A sure way of promoting the affiliate program.

Time to track down the sales you are getting from your affiliates fairly and accurately. There are phone orders and mails to track down. See if they are new clients checking the products out. Noting down the contact information that might be a viable source in the future.

There are lots of resources to sort out. Ads, banners, button ads and sample recommendations to give out because the marketer knows that this is one way of ensuring more sales. Best to stay visible and accessible too.

The affiliate marketer remembered that there are questions to answer from the visitors. This has to be done quickly. Nothing can turn off a customer than an unanswered email.

To prove that the affiliate is working effectively and efficiently, inquiries would have to be paid more attention on. Nobody wants to be ignored and customers are not always the most patient of all people. Quick answer that should appear professional yet friendly too.

In the process of doing all the necessities, the marketer is logged on to a chat room where he or she interacts with other affiliates and those under that same program. This is where they can discuss things on how to best promote their products.

There are things to be learned and it is a continuous process. Sharing tips and advices is a good way of showing support. There may be others out there wanting to join and may be enticed by the discussion that is going on. There is no harm in assuming what opportunities ahead.

The newsletters and ezines were updated days ago, so it is time for the affiliate marketer to see if there are some new things happening in the market. This will be written about in the marketer?s publication to be distributed to the old and new customers.

These same publications are also an important tool in keeping up to date with the newly introduced products. The marketer has put up a sale and promotion that customers may want to know about. Besides, they have to keep up with the deadline of these sales written in the publications.

It is that time to show some appreciation to those who have helped the marketer in the promotions and sale increase. Nothing like mentioning the persons, their sites and the process they have done that made everything worked.

Of course, this will be published in the newsletters. Among the more important information that have been written already.

The marketer still has time to write out recommendations to those who want credible sources for the products being promoted. There is also time to post some comments on how to be a successful affiliate marketer on a site where there are lots of wannabees.

Two objectives done at the same time. The marketer gets to promote the product as well as the program they are in. Who knows, someone may be inclined to join.

Time flies. Missed lunch but is quite contented with the tasks done. Bed time?.

Ok, so this may not be all done in a day. But then, this gives you an idea of how an affiliate marketer, a dedicated one that is, spends the marketing day.

My Little Secret Blog Post Method!

I wrote this a week ago on my blog called http://albiesonlineincome.blogspot.com : "I've been working on a new project with The 10K Challenge.

 Already it is day five and I am really impressed with what I have learned. Learning how to drive through safelists with a 'secret method' has opened my eyes tonight! Yes, I still am able to view the ads but I can now speed through them - especially the ones I've seen a million times! lol!

 I'm giving myself a challenge to spend only five minutes at least on one of my blogs per evening. My theory is to start out writing on a blog I don't care about so much and each night taking that one post and making it better as I move it to a different blog and add more and more pertanant content according to that other blog. In one week, I will have submitted blog posts on all my five biggest blogs.

 Hmm, we'll have to see how it goes! In this way, I will have something to build on each day and not waste my time blogging for hours on end! LOL AGAIN!"

 Since that time, that little secret method has been working. I mean really it only took me a few minutes to edit that post and give it a little more consideration and body for this blog! So I'm going to dub it a success! Now just need to ping my blogs on my 'blog announcer to the major blog directories to increase SEO.

Business Is About Trusting Too...

It's amazing how important trust is! Jesus said unless we become like little children, we will not enter the kingdom of God. Children are all about trusting. Check out this verse to test your trust level:

 "Oh, you of little faith! And do not set your heart on what you will eat or drink; do not worry about it. For the pagan world runs after all such things, and your Father knows that you need them."  Luke 12:22 - 34 Setting your heart on something is the key to this verse. Proverbs says to "guard your heart with all diligence'..." Jesus is challenging us to actually TRUST God! What a thought.

So, here's the question that took me to the answer: "What am I building of consequence?" That is the real focus. Once you have built that, then you have something to be proud of AND something of value

What ARE We Building Anyway?!

Its a good question. One I had a hard time answering. In fact, I felt like I was answering it all wrong. My answer was "I'm trying to make money".

Sound like your answer? Well, it's bound to be most peoples. But its not the answer that really matters in life. Not that money isn't important. But have you ever gone after money without having something very valuable to give? Or have you ever known a baby to earn money? Exactly. It's what you are and what you have to give that's important. Money comes with experience and after having built something of value. Jesus said, "Seek God's Kingdom and all these things (necessities of life) would be added unto you."

So, here's the question that took me to the answer: "What am I building of consequence?" That is the real focus. Once you have built that, then you have something to be proud of AND something of value that will earn you money as well. But don't lose your focus there. Once you have money, than you have an even better chance of making what you have build even better and to make it available to more people.

Free to be ME!

This weekend, I found peace on the water, heading out to sea on my boat. The wind has this amazing ability to captivate your mind (similiar to the way fire does) as it blows over the water. Yes, I feel a bit like a pirate out on the water. Whether I'm barefoot or wearing my holey pants (re-sewn several times with sail thread) or sailing at night with my kerosene lantern burning, I feel free to be just me!

Its one thing to be you, and another to earn additional income for doing things that you love. Learning a skill in something you love does not come overnight.

Online Advertising, One Step at a Time...

A Start I'm Proud of:

 I've spent hundered's of dollars in business' that I promoted for six months and never made a cent on. The way I see it, it really allows you to find what's important in life. Yes, money is important, but WHAT is MORE important?! That's the priority! Not As Easy As it Sounds

Went out sailing with my friend Mike yesterday. The time on the water really was a great break from all the business and work of the week. Working hours on end learning internet marketing and advertising is interesting and challenging but everyone needs a break. And there's nothing like an exhilarating time on the water to set your mind at ease. Had an awesome time watching Mike eventually take control over the boat. It may sound easy but it actually takes a lot of practice and dexterity to control the tiller, the boat, both jib lines and the sail all at the same time with the boat tilting drastically to the right or left with the power of the wind. In fact I have not seen anyone take over the boat all in the first day without my help. But Mike stepped up to the plate and took it on!

It was also fun seeing the expression on Mikes face when we went out to sea. There we were met by three to four foot waves. As Mike controlled the tiller over the bumpy waves, he explained his feelings by saying that it was more than he had bargained for! I laughed and dangled my feet in the cool ocean waves. Mike was doing great and I was not concerned with his sailing skills.After a few hours, we came sailing back into the calm harbor with the sails all out like the wings of a bird and soon had brought the boat into Mike's slip all under sail alone.

September Sailing...ugh...

This morning I updated a sailing story from last year called 'Sailing in a Furious Rainstorm'. It was fun to read again! Here's an excerpt:

 “What are you doing going out in this? I’m freezing!” A man cried out to me from a racing sailboat passing by. I didn't realize sailing in rain and bad weather was part of the sport! I just smiled and waved back. I wanted to say how warm I was with three jackets on, two hats and a scarf and gloves. But I didn’t..."

This weekend I went on three consecutive sails, three days in a row. The first sail was at night, and was really exciting except it got into the scary too as a huge barge nearly ran into us! The second sail was an evening sail and the sunset was absolutely gorgeous! The third sail was an afternoon sail and the wind across the boat cooled us off from the scorching sun. I must add, I am beginning to put September sailing into my 'not favorite month to sail in' month as its really hot and feels like summer still, but has none of the advantages of it. The sun sets sooner thus making the wind die sooner and even so far the wind has been weak every day I've been out making me think that the September weather combination is not very effective for great sailing. So there you have it - my take on that! Lol!
